Jeep, in the UK, have announced the prices and specification of the new Wrangler as the iconic off-roader gets officially introduced for the British customers. The range starts at £44,495 (Rs 43.17 lakhs) for the Sahara 2.2 MultiJet II 200hp 4x4 Automatic eight-Speed two-door version.
The car you see here is the MY19 Wrangler which comes with a host of updates. The changes to the MY19 model include new styling all round, giving a fresh appearance, updated interior with increased storage capacity and new engine options.
Speaking of which, there’s the 2.2-litre MultiJet II turbo diesel and 2.0-litre turbo petrol. The former features second-generation MultiJet technology, four valves per cylinder, solenoid injectors and a variable geometry turbocharger (VGT). It delivers 200 horsepower at 3,500 rpm and 450Nm of torque at 2,000 rpm. It also features engine stop/start technology.
Meanwhile, the two-litre turbocharged inline four-cylinder engine delivers 272 horsepower at 5,250 rpm and 400Nm of torque at 3,000 rpm and features ESS. The new two-litre petrol will be available in the UK later this year.
Inside, there’s a new Uconnect 8.4-inch touchscreen system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Improved safety content, including Blind-spot Monitoring, Rear Cross Path detection, ParkView reverse camera, electronic stability control (ESC) with electronic roll mitigation and four air bags come as standard across the range.
The MY19 Wrangler range starts at £44,495 (Rs 43.17 lakhs), going all the way up to £47,995 (Rs 46.57 lakhs) for the Rubicon 2.2 MultiJet II 200hp 4x4 Automatic eight-speed four-door variant. Jeep India, meanwhile, is yet to launch the new generation Wrangler so stay tuned for the all the updates around the local-spec model.
