Jeep has launched the Wrangler Unlimited in the Indian market at a price of Rs 71.59 lakh (ex-showroom New Delhi). The carmaker has made its Indian debut with this model and joining it are two more models - the Grand Cherokee and the more powerful Grand Cherokee SRT.
The Wrangler Unlimited comes powered by a 2.8-litre CRD turbo diesel mill mated to a five-speed automatic transmission. This engine produces 200bhp of power and 460Nm of torque.
The Wrangler that goes on sale in the Indian market is a four-door fully customisable model. It gets a dual roof, which can double up as a hard top and a soft top as well. The huge SUV measures 4,583mm in length, 1,877mm in width and has a wheelbase of 2,947mm. The vehicle is 1,829mm tall with the hard top and 1860mm in height with the soft top.
The interior boasts of a 6.5-inch touchscreen infotainment Alpine sound system. Its specialty is that it can be used in any kind of weather. The cabin then features the premium McKinley leather with accent stitching. The other highlight is the legendary Command Trac on the fly 4x4 system. On the safety front, there are multistage front airbags and supplementary side airbags.
Jeep, the iconic SUV maker, is offering the Wrangler Unlimited in India through the CBU route. It is available only in one variant and offered in six body colours – black, white, silver, granite, red and grey.
