Jeep’s high performance Grand Cherokee SRT will be the most expensive vehicle in Jeep's line-up once it hits showrooms in India. Jeep added that it will be launched here in June 2016, along with the rest of the Jeep range. The SRT looks the business thanks to the wide body kit, rear spoiler and the distinct Jeep design cues.
An aggressive stance, wide footprint and sinister “blacked out” front end gives the Grand Cherokee SRT a serious look. The front grill that’s flanked by distinctive headlamps has a glossy black treatment.
The aerodynamic front fascia sweeps on to the side profile, and the overall aura is dominated by a butch and no-nonsense look that’s exemplified by the huge wheels and massive ground clearance.
The rear end of the SRT is characterised by the thick C-pillar, huge tail lamps and glass area, followed by the snazzy protruding bumpers.
This is the same 6.4-litre V8 petrol engine that does duty in the Dodge Charger SRT. It belts out 470bhp and 630Nm of torque, and is coupled to an eight-speed auto box.
The dash is highlighted by a chunky steering wheel that accommodates a host of buttons for various functions. Seen are Laguna leather seats that’re crafted from leather procured from exclusive Scandinavian hides.
The huge touch screen is prominently placed above the array of switches on the centre console that is finished with chrome embellishments and silver accents.
