The Jeep brand entered the Indian market recently with a few models. These cars are well known for their primary product attributes of luxury and capability. One such model is the Grand Cherokee, which is now available in India in three variants. Check out the pictures of the SRT, Summit and Limited trims that were displayed at the launch event in Jodhpur.
The big burly persona is quite evident with the Jeep branding. But, unlike the proper old-school American styling in the Wrangler, the Cherokee models get a more modern look.
The chrome grille, DRLs, projector headlamps and big alloy wheels give the SUV an imposing stance. Needless to say, its on-road presence is astounding.
Jeep launched the Summit version of the Grand Cherokee at Rs 1.03 crore (ex-showroom, Delhi). It comes powered by a 3.0-litre V6 EcoDiesel unit same as the Grand Cherokee Limited.
But, the Summit comes equipped with some additional features over and above the Cherokee Limited. There is an 8.4-inch UConnect infotainment system paired to a nine Alpine speakers.
The Grand Cherokee's SRT variant is the most powerful Jeep on offer in India. The most notable thing it gets is the V8 motor making it the flagship on-road performance machine from the Jeep's line-up.
The Grand Cherokee SRT sports a 6.4-litre V8 petrol engine that churns out 475bhp of power and 64Nm of torque. This mill comes mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission with paddle shift.
Then to add to the fanciness in the interior there is a panoramic sunroof. Further to pamper the rear seat passengers, there is also a Blu-ray entertainment system.
