The Jeep Grand Cherokee and both the long and short-wheelbase version of the Wrangler have been spotted during testing at the Naigaon exit on Mumbai-Ahmedabad Highway. All three vehicles were fully registered which means the homologation has been done. This is also the first time these vehicles have been spotted testing outside Pune.
The Jeep Grand Cherokee will be powered by 3.0 litre turbo-diesel V6 that will produce 237bhp and 550Nm of Torque whereas the Wrangler will be powered by 2.8 litre diesel mill that produces 200bhp of peak power and 460Nm of torque.
Fiat had announced in December that that would launch the Jeep Grand Cherokee and the Wrangler in the Indian market by the third quarter of 2013. Both the cars will available in India through CBU route initially. They also said they would assemble the cars locally if the is sufficient demand.
