Jeep India has officially teased the Compass Traihawk for the Indian market. Jeep Compass Trailhawk is an off-road focused version of the SUV and is expected to be launched in the country in the months to come. The company has already commenced production of the Compass Trailhawk at its manufacturing facility. Moreover, the SUV was spied at a Jeep dealership earlier this month.
The Compass Trailhawk comes equipped with the Active Drive Low 4x4 System, with a low range gearbox, rear differential-lock, and hill-descent control. The Selec-Terrain system also gets a Rock mode, in addition to the Snow, Sand/Mud, Sport and Auto modes. The SUV gets a ground clearance of 225mm, which is 20mm more than the standard model.
The SUV features tweaked front and rear bumpers, which improve the approach and departure angles of the car. The water wading depth has been increased to 480mm, which is 75mm more than the standard model. The Jeep Compass Trailhawk also features underside skid plates to protect the floor-pan from scrapping.
Cosmetic updates include a black anti-glare decal on the hood, red-painted tow hooks, a ‘Trail-Rated’ badge on the front fender and a ‘Trailhawk’ emblem on the tailgate. On the inside, the SUV will feature Trailhawk badging on the seats and around the cabin. The car will also get a cruise control system and a new instrument cluster with a colour MID.
Under the hood, Jeep Compass Trailhawk will get a 170bhp/350Nm 2.0-litre diesel engine that will be mated to a 9-speed automatic gearbox. The Compass Trailhawk is likely to be priced around Rs 25 lakhs (ex-showroom) in India, while bookings are expected to commence from next month.
