Jeep has just commenced exporting right-hand drive units of the Jeep Compass to Australia and Japan market. This time around, fresh reports have emerged that the company has started production of the Compass Trailhawk variant for the international market at its facility in Ranjangaon. Although the company has no immediate plans for its India debut anytime soon, the Compass Trailhawk edition might be introduced sometime in first quarter of 2018.
The Compass Trailhawk is powered by a 2.0-litre diesel engine which is mated to a nine-speed automatic transmission. Offered as a top-spec model for the international market, the Trailhawk gets Jeep’s Active Drive Low-range 4WD tech for serious off-road duties along with a new 'Rock mode' for its Selec-Terrain 4WD system. The SUV also gets hill descent control as standard.
To distinguish from a regular version, the Jeep Compass Trailhwak gets dual-tone black and silver shade, a black painted anti-glare bonnet decal, unique alloy wheels, red recovery hooks, underbody skid plates and all weather floor mats. Moreover, the Trailhawk gets higher positioned bumpers for better approach and departure angle in comparison to the regular Compass. More details about the Trailhawk SUV will be known in the days to come.
