FCA has further expanded the Jeep Compass portfolio in India with the launch of the Sport Plus variant for a price of Rs 15.99 lakhs (ex-showroom, India). The new variant can be had in petrol as well as diesel guise. The Compass Sport Plus variant has been introduced as a more desirable entry-level offering from the company.
The Jeep Compass Sport Plus gets a set of standard new features, such as 16-inch sporty alloys, dual-zone automatic climate control, rear parking sensors and black roof rails. The new features are offered in addition to the 21 key features, which includes electric parking brake, disc brakes on all four wheels and the sophisticated frequency selective damping, which also come as standard across the entire Jeep Compass range.
Mechanically, the Compass Sport Plus continues to be powered by a 1.4-litre multiair turbo petrol engine that produces 161bhp/250Nm, while the diesel version continues to be powered by a 2.0-litre Multijet Turbo Diesel engine that generates 171bhp/350Nm. Both the engines come mated to a six-speed manual transmission.
