-Only 2WD diesel variants affected
-11,002 units to be recalled
Jeep has issued a recall for 2WD diesel variants of the Compass over an emission update, the issue being the SUV exceeding the regulatory threshold for particulate matter emissions. The recall has already been issued and dealerships will be rectifying the issue free of cost for the affected vehicles. The fix comprises of reprogramming the ECU with the latest software with the same also being carried out for the unsold vehicles. All of 11,002 units have been affected and the recall does not include the 4WD diesel or the petrol variant.Â
The affected vehicle owners will be contacted by Jeep India to fix an appointment with their nearest dealer. The update takes about 15 minutes to be carried out and according to FCA this is not a safety recall.
