The XJ is what comes to mind when one speaks about a Jaguar that provides the right combination of utmost comfort and driving pleasure. No wonder then, that this luxury sedan has been the choice of many businessmen, politicians, celebrities and prominent individuals all over the globe. Now, take a look at the pictures of the XJ50, a special edition of this flagship XJ sedan.
Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) India recently introduced this XJ50 to celebrate half a century of performance, technology and luxury.
This new model is claimed to be a fitting tribute to the enduring style and performance of Jaguar’s luxury saloon.
The updates on the exterior that set the XJ50 apart from the regular sedan include Autobiography-style front and rear bumpers. There’s also a unique badging on the rear and side vents.
A closer look reveals that the chrome radiator grille is blackened out, but still gets a chrome surround. The car now rides on new 19-inch (48.2cm) alloy wheels.
Inside the cabin, there are new soft-grain diamond-quilted seats. These are in turn embossed with the leaper (Jaguar logo) on the headrests.
There’s also an XJ50 logo on the centre armrest apart from the unique intaglio branding and XJ50-badged illuminated door sills.
Furthermore, what also helps differentiate this special edition from the regular sedan are anodised gearshift paddles on the steering wheel and bright metal pedals.
The car continues to draw power from a 3.0-litre diesel mill churning out 302bhp of power and 689Nm of torque. It comes mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission.
This new anniversary edition is available in the long wheelbase version in India. JLR continues to offer this version in loire blue, fuji white, rosello red and santorini black exterior body colour options.
