The flagship sedan of Jaguar’s range is all set to get a facelift. It has been on sale since 2009 and has been the preferred ride of people like British PM David Camreron. Now with the new Mercedes-Benz S–Class, facelifted Porsche Panamera and a refreshed Audi A8, it seems that Jaguar wants to keep its place in the flagship sedan race with a facelifted XJ.
The facelifted XJ gets redesigned bumpers in the front and the rear, refreshed side intakes similar to those found on the facelifted XF. At the rear, the chrome exhaust pipes have been given a redesigned casing while it appears that the number plate housing has been made smaller.
The interiors had been upgraded in August, so we expect no major changes in that aspect. The engine line-up which comprises a 2.0-litre Ecoboost petrol, 3.0-litre diesel, 3.0-litre petrol and the top of the line 5.0-litre V8 supercharged petrol are all expected to continue as before. All the engines have been mated to a six-speed automatic gearbox.
The XJ is brought to the Indian market as a CBU and only in the long wheelbase version. We expect that whenever Jaguar launches the car, it will be available in the Indian markets a few months later.
