Jaguar has made it evident that it will be unveiling the XF R-Sport 2015 at the Geneva Motor Show. The vehicle will be available in saloon and station wagon body styles.
The revised XF R-Sport promises to offer a "compelling combination of elegance and real-world efficiency."The car gets a new sporty front bumper, reworked side skirts and a spoiler at the rear. It gets 17-inch alloy-wheels with low rolling resistance tyres and gloss black trim.
The car will be powered by a 2.2-litre four-cylinder diesel engine that produces 163bhp and 400 Nm of torque mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission. The car is capable of achieving the sprint to 100 kmph from standstill in 10.5 seconds and can attain a top speed of 209 kmph. Performance needn’t necessarily hamper efficiency; the XF R-Sport will deliver a claimed 20.4 kmpl.
The XF always had nice interiors and the changes inside are restricted, although, the cabin gets black Suede cloth seats that can be availed with a choice of three colours for contrast stitching. The vehicle gets stainless steel pedals, and a choice of three trims dark oak, piano black or carbon fiber with pronounced R-Sport badging on the steering wheel and door sills.
The XF R-Sport may not be introduced in India, given the current variant positioning of the car here it will be a task to price it competitively. However Jaguar could surprise us by bringing the vehicle as a limited-edition model.
