The Jaguar XE has made its North American debut at the NAIAS 2015. The new entry-level luxury sedan from the British automaker made its debut last year and will bring the fight to the likes of the BMW 3 Series and the Audi A4 in the European markets.
Basically a smaller version of the XF and XJ, it has a very similar design including the famous modern Jag fasica, forward leaning stance and large wrap around tail lamps that define the automaker’s design philosophy.
Its gets interior design similar to that of the XF but with some updates from its larger siblings like the InControl infotainment system and the Meridian speaker set. The former is now capable of connecting with both iOS and Android systems to allow for greater smart phone connectivity.
No engine details have been released apart from the fact that the US market will get one version with the 3.0-litre supercharged V6 mill that produces 340bhp and 450Nm of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels via the ZF eight-speed AT. We believe that they will get the entire Ingenium range of petrol and diesel engines when the car goes on sale there later this year.
The XE is expected to make its India debut by the end of this year and will be produced locally to keep the price competitive
