Jaguar India has launched their new 2.0-litre Ingenium petrol engine in the XE and XF sedans at Rs 35.99 lakhs and Rs 49.80 lakhs respectively. The Ingenium family engine is available in two states of tune – 197bhp and 246bhp. The 197bhp output is offered on the XE Pure and XE Prestige as well as the XF Prestige, while the 246bhp powertrain is offered on the XE Portfolio and XF Portfolio.
The new petrol engine comes mated to the ZF-derived eight-speed automatic transmission with Jaguar’s Sequential Shift™ and All Surface Progress Control. The Ingenium is Jaguar Land Rover's new breed of engine which makes use of aluminium for better thermal properties and lightweight construction. The new petrol engines have twin-scroll turbos to minimise lag. The 2.0-litre engine has four-cylinders pushing out 400Nm of torque. The new powertrain is more fuel efficient and has reduced emissions as well.
Rohit Suri, president and managing director, Jaguar Land Rover India Ltd, commenting on the launch of new engine, said, “The Jaguar XE and XF have done tremendously well in India and with the entry of the refined and efficient Ingenium petrol powertrain on our award-winning sedans, we expect more customers to enjoy the thrilling drive experience these two cars offer.”
