The Jaguar XE sedan and the F-Pace SUV will be showcased at the 2016 Auto Expo. The XE is a new segment that the British automaker will enter in the Indian market while the F-Pace is a completely new part of the global market that the leaping cat will be making its way in to.
The India-spec XE will be offered with the 2.0-litre four-cylinder Ingenium diesel and petrol engines which produce 163hp/380Nm of torque and 200bhp/320Nm respectively. Power is sent to the rear wheels via the ZF nine-speed gearbox across both engine options. The F-Pace too will get the same engine but in the 180bhp state of tune. It seems possible that JLR might introduce the F-Pace in a single top-of-the line AWD variant for the Indian market.
Further, given the importance of the cars, both are sure to get limited production First Edition models which will be imported as CBUs before local assembly of at least one of the cars begins. Joining these two cars for Jaguar’s 2016 Indian onslaught will also be facelifted versions of the XJ and XF sedans.
