Jaguar will be celebrating its motorsport history at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in the UK this year from June 26 to 29. Apart from this celebration, the automaker will present a new car at the event.
Jaguar Land Rover recently inaugurated a new Special Operations division which will specialise in creating high performance and ultra luxury cars along with limited edition and halo vehicles for the company. The new product that will be unveiled at the festival will be the first car manufactured from this division. No particular details of the car have been disclosed but we expect Jaguar to develop an exciting product as most manufacturers plan something special for this event.
Apart from this new model, the carmaker will bring their racecars like the D-type, XJS TWR and XJR-9 that will do the sprint up at the Goodwood Hill. The new Jaguar F-Type Coupe, XFR-S Sportbrake and the iconic ‘Group 44’ E-type will also be showcased at the festival amongst other Jaguar cars. The company will also celebrate the 60th anniversary of its Le Mans winner D-type and it will also reunite ex-Works driver Andy Wallace with its XJR-9 LM endurance racecar.
Jaguar entered the 2013 Goodwood festival of Speed with the ‘Project 7’ car which was also showcased at the 2014 Auto Expo in India this year. The vehicle is based on the aggressive looking, sharply designed F-Type Roadster that was launched in India last year. With the unveiling of the new Jaguar model, let's hope the company brings such interesting products to India soon.
