Jaguar has announced that it will unveil the 2016 XF sedan on March 24. In a teaser video ahead of the big date the company has said the reveal will be just as exciting as that of the Discovery Sport and XE sedan. The report suggests that the reveal video involves a dramatic high-wire crossing performed by stuntman Jim Dowdall of Indiana Jones and James Bond fame.
Now that we have covered all the excitement, let us get into the car a bit. It is expected to be underpinned by a new aluminum platform and will be fitted with a wide range of engines which come from the existing range as well as from the Ingenium family of the XE. The top of the line mill is obviously expected to be the XFR which will make use of the 5.0-litre twin-turbo V8.
In terms of design, it is expected to retain the original overall design but with newer bits making it more of an evolution rather than a completely new design altogether. The XF was the first car to come out of Jaguar’s stable after it was bought by Tata in 2008.
Stay tuned to CarWale as we will bring you all the details of the car once they are out.
