Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) has started accepting bookings for diesel trim of the XE sedan. This entry-level luxury sedan can now be booked in India through any of the 24 Jaguar dealers across India.
The upcoming Jaguar XE diesel will be powered by a 2.0-litre diesel motor that churns out 178bhp of power and 430Nm of torque. This engine also belongs to the company's newly developed Ingenium engine family.
Rohit Suri, JLR India managing director said, "In the past one year, Jaguar XE has gained immense popularity and success in the Indian market and we are now pleased to offer the choice of diesel to our customers."
The Jaguar XE was launched in India at the Auto Expo 2016 with a 200bhp 2.0-litre petrol engine in February 2016. The petrol edition is offered in three variants - Pure, Prestige and Portfolio, which are priced between Rs 41 lakh and Rs 50 lakh. We can expect the upcoming diesel version to be brought to India via the Completely Knocked Down (CKD) route like the petrol version.
