Jaguar Land Rover in Malaysia has launched the new Jaguar XF at RM 450,000 (Rs 76.25 lakh) for the Prestige version. Jaguar’s latest XF will also be available in an R-Sport variant that costs RM 460,000 (Rs 77.94 lakh).
This iteration of the XF debuted at the 2015 New York International Auto Show. It’s lighter, has more cabin space and bears more power than the outgoing version. Jaguar added that they managed to extend the wheelbase by 51mm to free up the claimed class-leading cabin space. Both variants come with a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine that makes 240bhp at 5,500 rpm and 340Nm between 1,750rpm and 4,000rpm. This motor is coupled to an eight-speed automatic transmission.
The Malaysian XF comes standard with an eight-inch touchscreen, a five-inch instrument panel display with analogue dials and an 80 Watt Jaguar sound system. Also included are bi-xenon headlamps with LED DRLs, two-zone climate control, 10-way adjustable front seats and cruise control. Safety will be taken care of by the six airbags, traction control, brake assist and ASPC (all surface progress control). Buyers can also purchase an optional safety pack that would include lane keep assist and park assist.
The Prestige variant adds features like 17-inch lightweight 15-spoke wheels, perforated leather seats, metal scuff plates with a Jaguar logo and a multi-function soft-grain leather steering wheel. Features unique to the XF R-Sport are a sport suspension, 18-inch Helix 10-spoke wheels and an R-Sport body kit. You also get an R-Sport branded multi-function soft-grain leather steering wheel and R-Sport branded metal scuff plates.
Jaguar India is expected to launch the new XF in the Indian market sometime this year.
