Jaguar Land Rover has announced a change in the prices of the vehicles in its portfolio. This revision has been brought after the GST (Goods and Services Tax) regime has kicked in from today.
The Jaguar range in India has the entry-level XE sedan now starting at Rs 34.64 lakhs. This is followed by the XF (Rs 44.89 lakhs), F-Pace (Rs 67.37 lakhs) and XJ (Rs 97.39 lakhs). All of these entry-level prices mentioned are ex–showroom prices in India. Meanwhile, the Land Rover range starts with the Discovery Sport priced at Rs 40.04 lakhs, then the Range Rover Evoque (Rs 42.37 lakhs), Range Rover Sport (Rs 89.44 lakhs) and the Range Rover (Rs 1.58 crore) completes their range.
While most of the prices of cars have come down, especially SUVs, some vehicles like the XJL and the Pure trim of F-Pace have become a little expensive. The XJL ex-showroom prices began at Rs 96.78 lakhs earlier, but it now begins at Rs 97.39 lakhs. Also, the F-Pace AWD Pure earlier costed Rs 64.53 lakhs and now it retails at Rs 67.37 lakhs. However the Land Rover SUV prices have come down. It should be noted that eventually the overall percentage change in on-road prices of these cars will vary from state to state as well.
Rohit Suri, President and Managing Director, Jaguar Land Rover India, said, "We are very pleased to welcome the dawn of the new GST era in India and are happy to announce that we are ready for GST and our customers can purchase Jaguar and Land Rover cars at the new GST prices with immediate effect from any of our 25 retail outlets across India."
