The British marquee Jaguar has introduced a new jewel— Ultimate— in its already existing crown called the XJ, at the Beijing Motor Show. The Ultimate will be the most premium model in the XJ spectrum. Jaguar is still to confirm the powertrain details for the Indian spec car; meanwhile the company has announced that the Ultimate will be on sale by this year end.
The lower front air intakes on the Ultimate are reshaped and chrome finished, while the 20-inch Maroa forged alloy wheels are unique to this model and feature a dual-tone colour scheme. Another visual differentiator is the discreet metal ‘Ultimate’ badge underneath the ‘XJ’ nameplate.
On the inside for the rear thrones, a table rises up from the centre console at the touch of a button to provide a working area, its role is supplemented by the provision of two third-generation iPads with wireless keyboards that are housed in bespoke leather-trimmed docks in the rear of the front seats.
For pleasure there is a champagne chiller mounted between the two rear seats. Two specially commissioned champagne flutes reside in a purpose made cabinet beneath the centre table. A full rear seat package with twin headrest screens and wireless headphones completes the experience in combination with a new 20-speaker Meridian surround sound in-car entertainment system.
