Jaguar has updated their official Indian website with its entry-level premium sedan, the XE. The company has teased the car with its official video and details on the website.
Unveiled at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show, this entry-level premium sedan from the British manufacturer will compete with three Germans- the Mercedes-Benz C -Class, the BMW 3 Series and the Audi A4. The XE will be underpinned by a high-tech aluminium platform called the iQ[AI] architecture. A new range of efficient four-cylinder engines, currently being developed by Jaguar Land Rover, dubbed 'Ingenium' will power the car. The company claims that these engines will have a top speed of 300kmph and will also have very low emissions.
The XE's chassis is made from pressed aluminium sheets and castings joined with rivets and aerospace adhesives. It could be used for a wide range of vehicles in the future, including the concept C-X17 SUV and a longer version for the XF replacement.
