Jaguar is cooking up a souped-up version of its first SUV, the F-Pace. Tuned by SVO, the hot F-Pace will be revealed on 28 March at the 2018 New York International Motor Show, according to reports.
Jaguar has been testing the F-Pace SVR for some time now. The test mule was spotted lapping the Green Hell last year trying to hide the huge front air intakes. It was essential to help cool the fire-breathing supercharged 5.0-litre V8 motor which also does duties in the maniacal F-Type SVR. The F-Pace SVR will punch out around 560bhp and earth-moving 700Nm of twisting force. With the bump-up in performance, expect the SVR to pack in a firmer suspension set-up along with larger and more powerful brakes. The test mule also was sporting stylish alloys and quad exhaust pipes.
The SVR motor will be good enough to propel the F-Pace to a top whack of 320kmph. The 0-100kmph time will also be around 4 seconds similar to the F-Type. If that is possible, the F-Pace can become the quickest mid-size SUV on sale right now. The F-Pace SVR will come as a competition to the likes of Porsche Macan Turbo, Mercedes-AMG GLC63, BMW X3M and Alfa Romeo Stelvio Quadrifoglio in the race of fast crossovers. It should hit the road by the end of this year with an Indian debut as well.
