Is Jaguar testing a new engine for the F-Type? Seems like it, as an F-Type has been spotted testing in Scandinavia with the car in question sporting a different body panel.
A popular automotive blog has posted spy pictures of the F-Type.The car is found using the similar body but the bonnet is different which hints at a new small capacity four-cylinder engine, mentions WCF.
Jaguar’s captivating successor to the legendary E-Type sports car the F-type was lauded by everyone as the most pleasing design ever. The F-Type however, was a little pricey and was pitted against the much established Porsche Carrera. The engine may be a turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder churning out 240bhp and 340Nm of torque. The figures are about 100bhp and 110Nm lower than the base 3.0-litre V6.
Although these figures might seem less, the relatively smaller Jaguar F-type can still post decent performance figures.
Jaguar launched the F-Type in India and said it will be a ‘game changer’ however, the pricing ensured that did not happen. Will the F-Type with a smaller engine be the game changer that Jaguar wants it to be?
