Jaguar’s first ever crossover offering – the F-Pace is ready to be unleashed in the Indian market. The British marquee has revealed to us that it will launch the F-Pace on October 20. The car will be launched as a fully imported unit and eventually take on Porsche’s Macan as its arch nemesis.
Shown first at the Frankfurt Motor Show late last year, the design of the F-Pace remains true to the aesthetics of the C-X17 concept. What’s more, it even gets F-Type- inspired stlying cues such as the strong rear haunches, fender vents and distinctive tail light graphics.
As one would expect from a modern Jaguar, the F-Pace uses plenty of lightweight aluminium in its base. Drivetrain-wise, the vehicle will be launched with two diesel engine options – a 2-litre, four-cylinder Ingenium unit with 177bhp and 430Nm of torque and a bigger 3-litre turbocharged V6 diesel with as much as 296bhp and 700Nm of torque. All versions will feature all-wheel drive and an 8-speed automatic gearbox as standard.
Globally, the F-Pace range consists of Prestige, R-Sport, Portfolio and S variants. For the Indian market, there will be Pure, Prestige, R-Sport and First Edition forming the F-Pace range. Stay tuned for more details on this luxury offering as we get closer to the official launch.
