A camouflaged prototype of the Jaguar F-Pace SVR was caught testing in Spain last month. Here we have the sporty SUV making its second appearance undergoing cold weather testing.
After the Range Rover and the F-Type tasted success with the Special Vehicle Operation’s (SVO) works, more vehicles were chosen to receive the performance treatment. The F-Pace SUV which was launched just last year is the next in line. The car was also spotted at the Nurburgring in September last year. The test mule spotted here is hiding two large air intakes up front and a set of quad exhaust at the back. The car was riding on a larger restyled blacked-out alloy wheels.
The biggest question surrounding the F-Pace SVR was what will be powering the luxury SUV. At first, it was speculated that it might be a V6 supercharged to produce 500+bhp but a supercharged 5.0-litre V8 motor borrowed from the F-Type SVR seems a more viable option. The power outputs should hover around the 550bhp and owing to the bump-up in the performance the SUV will employ a firmer suspension set-up with bigger brakes.
The F-Pace SVR will go up against the Porsche Macan Turbo when it goes on sale. Jaguar is expected to reveal this sporty SUV at the Frankfurt Motor Show later this year and will hit the road only next year. The British marque will launch the F-Pace SVR in India as well.
