Jaguar is expected to launch its Audi Q5, Range Rover Evoque and BMW X3 rivalling C-X17 SUV in 2016 and will most likely price it at 30,000GBP (Rs 30.20 lakh). It unveiled the car at the 2014 Brussels Motor Show and was given its first review of sorts by a Gulf-based auto magazine during the Dubai Auto Show.
The Jaguar C-X17 is a premium all-wheel-drive SUV and is the first time that the British luxury car maker is venturing into a new segment in its 50 year plus heritage. The move by them to make an SUV seems well timed as there has been a major trend in people buying SUVs across various segments and sizes.
Ian Callum, Jaguar’s director of design, has hinted that the concept car is very close to what the production model will be like when it is launched. We are quite excited about the C-X17 as it will make its way to India and might be assembled at their Pune plant for global markets due to financial considerations.
