Isuzu vehicles will be exempted from payment of Motor Vehicle Tax if purchased in the state of Andhra Pradesh from November 18th, 2016 till March 31th, 2021. The five years of exemption of motor vehicle tax is in line with the Government of the Andhra Pradesh state’s attempt to promote the state as a manufacturing hub.
The exemption of the motor vehicle tax is applicable on all the D-Max pickup range which are manufactured at Sri City and purchased in the state of Andhra Pradesh. The Government of the state has exempted a lifetime tax payment for the V-Cross and all the other passenger vehicles that will be launched in future. Whereas the S-Cab and the regular Cab variant of the D-Max will enjoy the exemption from paying the quarterly road tax.
For the passenger vehicles, the exemption is on the 14 per cent (or relevant) of invoice value paid as one-time life tax. Whereas for the commercial pick-ups, it is the quarterly road tax of Rs 800 (or relevant) per quarter paid during the life of the vehicles.
Isuzu is the first automobile manufacturing company to set up in AP and began operations in April. Spread across 107 acres, the facility has a capacity of producing 50,000 units annually which can be stretched up to 120,000 units in future. Currently, the D-Max range of pickup trucks are manufactured in this facility, which includes the V-Cross, and the S-Cab along with the regular D-Max.
