The Isuzu MU-X and V-Cross are now cheaper by eight and six per cent respectively. The Japanese manufacturer recently announced the revised prices of its vehicle models with GST rates applicable from July 1, 2017.
The Isuzu MU-X now starts at Rs 22,38,358 (ex-showroom Chennai), showing an 8 per cent reduction in prices as compared to pre-GST prices. However, it should be noted that these prices will reduce further in different states where the pre-GST slab was already high. So prospective buyers can expect the reduction in MU-X prices to be in the range of 6-12 per cent across different locations.
The Isuzu V-Cross too costs less now with GST kicking in. Its price has been revised to Rs 12,67,111 (ex-Showroom Chennai). This shows a decline of 6 per cent over the pre-GST ex-showroom price in Chennai.
The price reduction of Isuzu vehicles is applicable across its range of commercial vehicles as well. Under the new GST regime, the SUVs have been the biggest gainers now that taxes on vehicles more than four metres is down by 12 per cent. This has declined from 55 per cent under the pre-GST regime to 43 per cent (28 per cent tax + 15 per cent cess). The reduction in prices is part of the carmaker's efforts to pass on the GST benefits to customers.
