Isuzu has started taking bookings for the D-Max V-Cross priced at Rs 12.49 lakh (ex-showroom Chennai). Deliveries of the vehicle will begin only in July this year.
Isuzu had announced earlier that they intend to launch a product at the Rs 15 lakh mark, which will be available for private registration. They showcased the D-Max V-Cross at the 2016 Auto Expo hinting they might launch the product for the Indian market. Finally, this vehicle is available at introductory prices and will soon be offered through various dealerships across the country.
Unlike the D-Max pick-up, the V-Cross is a premium car with the same body style, but better features. It is mainly targeted at people looking for adventure and utility, while wanting to have passenger car-like features and comforts. So apart from the adventurous looks, the cabin gets features like a seven-inch touchscreen entertainment system, multi-function steering wheel, automatic climate control and a Multi Information Display.
The V-Cross comes powered by a 2.5-litre four-cylinder VGS Turbo Intercooled diesel engine that produces 134bhp of power and 320Nm of torque. This motor is BS-IV compliant and comes mated to a five-speed manual gearbox. It is available as a 4X4 variant, which also gets the company’s new iGRIP (Isuzu Gravity Response Intelligent Platform) and a dial type shift-on-the-fly 4WD knob. ABS, EBD and front dual airbags are also on offer.
Variant-wise pricing will soon be available as the manufacturer completes the process of launching the car in a phased manner.
