Isuzu MU-X: Top five things

The Isuzu MU-X has been launched in India and is being offered in two variants. They are priced at Rs 23.99 lakh for the 4X2 variant and 25.99 lakh (Ex-showroom Delhi) for the 4X4 variant. This is the Japanese automaker’s full-fat big SUV, meant to attract luxury buyers to their fold.
 
This vehicle has a long road ahead of it in terms of making its presence felt especially since it has to take on the likes of the Skoda Superb, Ford Endeavour and Toyota Fortuner- all established players in the D-segment. So to see how it lives up to the challenge- here is the top five things of the new Isuzu MU-X.

AT only but with 4X2 and 4X4 options
With an increasing number of premium buyers going in for AT only options Isuzu has brought the MU-X to India only in an automatic guise which in this case is a five-speed unit. In the 4X2 setup, it sends power to the rear wheels while in the 4X4 setup it has been paired to a shift-on-the-fly AWD system which has a low-range gearbox.

Off-roading numbers
This MU-X gets 220mm of ground clearance, 30.1 degree approach angle, 25.1 degree departure angle and ability to handle gradients of 30 degrees. In addition it also gets underbody protection plate for the sump, transfer case and fuel tank.

Full luxury trim
Unlike its rivals, Isuzu is only offering the MU-X as one fully loaded model. This includes the standard features typical of this segment  like climate control with blower controls for the second row, touchscreen infotainment system, three rows with leather upholstery and one touch fold for the third row. Its party piece is the 10-inch screen and an eight speaker system for the rear rows.

Bling accessories
The MU-X is all about presence and what better way to do this than to offer buyers the chance to bling their machines. You get exterior chrome trims, illuminated door sil plates, chrome tip exhaust covers and of course door visors to give that extra little bit of presence.

Big on presence
At 4.8-meters and covered in shiny bits, the MU-X has a soft design but is hard to miss. It meets all the numbers and mental checkboxes for anyone who wants to make their presence felt when they arrive at their destination.
