As part of Isuzu’s growth plans in India, the automaker is expected to launch the much awaited MU-X in the country on May 11. The India-bound model was recently unveiled at the 2017 Bangkok Motor Show. Post launch, the new model will compete against the likes of Ford Endeavour, Mitsubishi Pajero Sport, Chevrolet Trailblazer and Toyota Fortuner in the country.
In the international market, the Isuzu MU-X in the international market is being offered with a newly-developed 1.9-litre four-cylinder engine that generates 150bhp of power and 350Nm of torque, while it also gets a 3.0-litre diesel engine option that generates 177bhp of power and 380Nm of torque. The engines come mated to a six-speed manual and a six-speed automatic transmission option. As for the Indian market, we might get a 2.5-litre turbo-diesel engine from the D-Max V-Cross which generates 136bhp of power and 320Nm of torque. It is believed that the engine options which are offered internationally might be introduced in our country at a later date.
Based on what we have seen so far at the ongoing 2017 Bangkok Motor Show, the new Isuzu MU-X will get redesigned headlamps that is well complimented by large horizontal grille slats. The projector units smartly house the LED-daytime running lamps. The bumper has been revised for freshness, while the sides looks visually attractive with 18-inch alloy wheels while the rear is offered with a new roof-mounted spoiler. As for the interior, the vehicle gets a new eight-inch infotainment screen with iConnect feature along with navigation and smartphone connectivity. The standard equipment list includes steering mounted controls, climate control, six-way seat adjustment and six speakers.
