Volkswagen has released information regarding their Gen.E research prototype, a vehicle that’s expected to let the world know about the carmaker’s future in the electric space. And in the process, it could essentially be previewing their next-generation Golf.
When you sit back and look at the Gen.E concept, you will find its similarity with the current e-Golf through the C-shaped LED DRLs located on the lower front bumper. In the prototype though, there are two light signatures, one in the headlight and the other in the bumper that coincide to form a unique C-shape. Thanks to the semi-autonomous intentions of the prototype, the lower section of the bumper is home to a few radars, and a camera finds its place on the windscreen.
Other highlights of this prototype include the snazzy gull-wing doors, flush door handles, and the massive spoiler which integrates the B-pillar, boot lid and the roof. Measures that are clearly aimed at offering a more aerodynamic advantage. Volkswagen is quite serious about its EV future and is known to be working on several green projects as it wants to re-position itself as an EV and hybrid vehicle leader in the time to come.
