The Tata Nexon has been a volume generating product for the popular Indian utility vehicle manufacturer. Recently, a heavily camouflaged version of the SUV was spotted on test in the country, thereby hinting that Tata might update it with the IMPACT 2.0 design. It is also believed that the company will upgrade its existing fleet to the new IMPACT 2.0 design language.
The company is yet to officially comment or reveal details for the new Nexon. Apart from the design update, the new model is also likely to comply with the BS-VI norms that will be mandated in the country in 2020. The fresh updates are likely to increase costs for the Nexon, so it won't be surprising if the company decides to hike the prices and justify it by upgrading the Nexon from the existing X1 platform to the ALFA platform, which also underpins the Altroz.
The new Tata Nexon is likely to continue being powered by the existing 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol and 1.5-litre turbocharged diesel engine option. More details about the updated Nexon will be known in the days to come.
