-Gets minor exterior tweaks
-Could be launched late next year
Citroen introduced the Basalt coupe SUV in the country earlier this year. It is offered only in the ICE avatar, while Tata offers an electric derivative too for its rival, the Curvv. Citroen is now working on an EV version of the Basalt, evident from the fresh spy shots on the web.
As seen in the spy images, the Citroen Basalt EV gets minor design tweaks when compared to the ICE version. Some of these include a reworked front bumper, no grille, and small revisions to the air dam. Also up for offer could be new alloy wheels, while the charging port could be positioned on the LHS rear fender.
A few notable elements of the Basalt EV carried over from the petrol derivative include wraparound taillights, shark-fin antenna, high-mounted stop lamp, sloping roofline, split headlamps, and flap-type door handles.
In terms of interior and features, the new Basalt EV is expected to come equipped with a wireless mobile charger, automatic climate control, TPMS, wireless mobile connectivity, and a 10.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system.
Details regarding the powertrain of the 2025 Citroen Basalt EV remain unknown at the moment. We expect the model to be propelled by a 35kWh battery pack paired with a single electric motor. The model could return a range of 450km on a single full charge.
