As a maker of Luxury cars, one isn’t really into the game unless they are competing with the big boys of luxury, read, the Mercedes S-Class, the BMW 7 Series and the Lexus LS. Infiniti's has been into luxury cars for a while now and finally it seems they are ready to take on the big guns. At the upcoming Detroit Motor Show, Infinity will be previewing a large concept sedan.
According to Infiniti's, the new model would look less like a traditional sedan and more like a four-door coupe. As of now, the Q70L is the only large sedan on sale by Infinity in China and it’s been over a decade since Infiniti last offered a full-size sedan, the Q45 which went out of production in 2006.
This is surely set to be the brands halo model and that’s surely the direction where Infiniti is headed. Infiniti already revealed the Q80 Inspiration concept in 2014 which is also on similar lines. What is also interesting is that the Infiniti's production models are very much similar to their concepts, so something like the Q80 Inspiration in production form is sure to drop a lot of jaws. Keep watching this space for more.
