The QX80 is Infiniti’s flagship SUV and has been around for more than half a decade in the global markets. Based on the Nissan Patrol SUV, the Infiniti QX80 has been able to match and eventually surpass its native rival, the Lexus LX in the full-size luxury SUV space in most markets. Infiniti has teased the new QX80 Monograph, a luxury SUV concept that might go on to become a challenger for the mantle of the ultimate SUV.
Unlike its current fleet-truck-like looks, the QX Monograph looks ravishing with the high mounted large rectangular front grille and all LED headlamps that flank the grille’s top-line. The solid bumper with the splitter air dam and the bash-plate underneath makes it look like a crouching rhino. The tall bonnet blends in to the shoulder line that extends to the tail gate. The flared wheel arches under the defining shoulder line and the louvre that extends low on the doors from the front fender to the rear wheel give it the required muscle. The large alloy wheels makes sure the Monograph stands tall as well.
Apart from the image shown above, Infiniti has divulged no details about the car but based on an informed guess we expect that it will continue to get the massive 5.6-litre V8 petrol engine that develops just 400bhp of power and a massive 560Nm of torque. A four-wheel drive and a seven-speed automatic gearbox will be standard and the Monograph will tow 8.5 tonnes without even breaking a sweat.
Like Lexus is Toyota’s premium offering, Nissan has Infiniti, which means, the QX80 Monograph will have one of the most luxurious and bespoke interior. Looks like Range Rover might have to up its ante as world’s favourite luxury SUV now that we have both Bentley Bentayga and the QX80 Monograph vying for the top spot along with the upcoming Rolls-Royce Cullinan. Stay tuned to Carwale to find out more about the Inifiniti QX Monograph as it gets unveiled at the New York Auto Show next week.
