Hyundai India has bagged an order for the Kona Electric from the Government of India, under the Central Government-owned Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL). The company has placed an order for 10 units of the model, of which four units have already been delivered.
Launched in July this year, the Hyundai Kona Electric was priced at Rs 25.30 lakhs (ex-showroom, all India). Following the GST revision, the model received a price cut of Rs 1.59 lakhs, resulting in a new price tag of Rs 23.71 lakhs (ex-showroom).
Of the 300 bookings of the Hyundai Kona Electric, more than 150 units have been delivered which were booked within 20 days of the launch. The Kona Electric is currently sold at 15 dealerships located in 11 cities, details of which are available here.
Powering the Hyundai Kona Electric is a 39.2 kWh battery that is claimed to return an ARAI certified range of 452kms. Tuned to produce 136bhp and 395Nm of torque, the model can sprint from 0-100kmph in 9.7 seconds.
