The India-bound Volvo S60 has been teased ahead of its official debut on 20 June. This will be the first vehicle to get Polestar (Volvo’s performance arm) engineering in terms of hybrid technology. This vehicle will be highlight of a programme Volvo has setup to debut a new plant at Charleston, South Carolina where the car is being built exclusively.
As expected, the teaser image shows that the S60 will copy the design language of its elder sibling the S90 almost element for element. This includes the grille, ‘Thor hammer headlamps’ and the axe shaped tail lights. It’s even expected to get the same silhouette. This third generation S60 will be one of the first Volvo models to do away with diesel engines. Instead, it will debut with a number of petrol motors as well hybrid engine options.
This car is India-bound and is expected to debut here in 2019. It will take on the likes of the BMW 3 Series, Mercedes-Benz C-Class, Audi A4 and the Jaguar XE.
