Volkswagen is gearing up for the official reveal of the all-new T-Cross which will happen later this month. Ahead of that, we expect to see the baby SUV in several teasers. The first of these teasers show us bits and pieces of the new funky Baby SUV.
As we have seen in the design sketches, the T-Cross will have a fascia similar to the one seen on the bigger and more premium T-Roc. So the headlight will carry a similar shape but with integrated LED daytime running lights. The grille seen in the teaser extends all the way to the headlamps and the overall design will be subtle. What won’t be subtle will be the styling as VW plans to make the T-Cross as customisable as the new-gen Polo.
The fog lamp with chrome surround is integrated into the bumper and gets a black insert running across the fascia. The same black treatment is teased at the back, where the entire LED tail lights get an integrated black insert running across the tailgate. This might be part of the top-spec R model, and we hope it won’t be seen in the rest of the variants. But the most interesting part of the teaser is the dual tone multispoke alloy wheels which are matched with the body colour. Another teaser shows five body colours which include very bright ones like orange, blue and cyan. In profile, the floating roof will provide a dual tone body colour options as well.
The same funkiness will be carried out on the inside as well. Akin to the cabin seen in the Polo, there will be a colour coordinated interior in the T-Cross. There are reports of no less than 12 interior colour options for the baby SUV. The cabin in the teaser has an all-black treatment. The digital instrument cluster is seen along with a large infotainment screen alongside the newly designed steering wheel. The seats appear to be nicely sculpted and sporty
The T-Cross is based on the same A0 platform as the Polo, Seat Arona and Audi A1. So it will be powered by the same engine options which include a 1.0-litre TSI and 1.6-litre TDI motor with both manual and automatic transmission.
