-This car will lead the charge for a new generation of VW vehicles in the country around 2020
-Underpinned by MQB A0-IN
-Expected to rival Hyundai Creta, Maruti S-Cross, Renault Duster and Nissan Terrano
-Likely to be offered with petrol, diesel and hybrid power.
A camouflaged India-bound Volkswagen T-Cross has been spotted doing the rounds in Europe. The level of camouflage indicates that the car is at an advanced stage of testing. Still, with the future efforts of our spy photographers, we should see an undisguised version of the car very soon.
In some of the photos, we can see a covering on the back seat of the car indicating that much of the interior design development is already complete. This seems logical as Volkswagen has already said that we will see a production version of the car later this year. In production guise, this car is expected to borrow much of its appearance from its older sibling, the golf based T-Roc.Â
This is an important car for Volkswagen in India as it will lead their charge in terms of new models from 2020 onwards when VW begins producing cars with the MQB A0-IN platform. This will be their rival for the likes of the Hyundai Creta, Nissan Terrano and the Renault Duster.
