The Skoda Kodiaq SUV has been caught testing at the Nurburgring track in Germany. The seven-seater SUV is expected to be launched in India next year and will make its global debut in September ahead of the Paris Motor Show.
The Kodiaq is the first large SUV from Skoda. From the spy pics, it seems that the car has closely followed the concept and sketches, in terms of design. The sloping roofline, wide grille and sleek headlamps are visible despite the heavy camouflage. From the side and rear, it looks like the Kodiaq will have decent space in the third row, along with a sizeable boot.
Skoda will offer the Kodiaq with a range of TSI petrol and TDI diesel engines at the time of the launch. There are also talks about a new hybrid variant joining the line up next year. While the base trims will use front-wheel drive, there will be AWD on offer, along with the seven-speed DSG dual-clutch transmission.
Post the global launch, Skoda India will bring the Kodiaq to India as a CKD. We are expecting to see the SUV in India by mid-2017 with a starting price of around Rs 30 lakh.
