Last seen at the 2015 Los Angeles Motor Show, the Range Rover Evoque Convertible will be launched in India on 27 March. The new model will emerge as the country’s first luxury convertible SUV. For those who love driving under the sun, the roof can be operated in just about 20 seconds and travelling at speeds of up to 48kmph. In India, the Range Rover Evoque convertible will be offered in fully-loaded HSE Dynamic variant and will get features such as leather seats, adaptive LED headlights, navigation and ambient lighting. The company claims that the roof uses an acoustic inner lining which helps reduce road noise and enhance cabin insulation. To make up for the absence of a roof, the vehicle gets a reinforced monocoque chassis and a pop-up roll-bar system which is deployed whenever there is a risk of a rollover. The Evoque convertible will be powered by a 2.0-litre Ingenium petrol engine that generates 237bhp of power and 340Nm of torque. The powerful engine comes mated to a nine-speed automatic transmission that drives all four-wheels. The convertible SUV is capable of sprinting from 0-100kmph in 8.1 seconds and can attain a top speed of 217kmph. More details about the Evoque convertible will be known post its official launch in India.
