- India-bound model to be showcased on 18 October
- Likely to be powered by existing 1.6-litre petrol and 1.5-litre diesel engine options
- To be launched in January 2019
Earlier this month we had driven the international spec Nissan Kicks in Dubai. This time around, the company will officially unveil the India-bound Kicks on 18 October. The India-bound model will be a little different from the one on sale in the international market in terms of specs and features, but then, the design element is unlikely to get major changes. The vehicle is expected to launch in January 2019.
The international model is powered by a 1.6-litre petrol engine that is mated to a CVT gearbox that generates 118bhp of power and 149Nm of torque. Nissan offers a 1.6-litre petrol engine in India as well, but here it generates 104bhp of power. Nissan also has a 1.5-litre engine diesel engine that is mated to a six-speed manual transmission that generates 108bhp of power.
The SUV gets a tipped forward stance and an aggressive fascia in the form of a muscular bumper, thick U-shaped chrome strip and bold headlamps. The thick C-pillar has been blacked for a floating roof design while the peripheral cladding adds ruggedness to the equation. The vehicle will feature flared wheel arches and a raked rear windshield.
The international spec Kicks SUV features an all-black cabin, while the Indian-spec model might get a dual-tone theme along with infotainment system in the centre and a three-spoke multi-function steering wheel. The vehicle will also be offered with a 360-degree camera among other features. More details about the vehicle will be known post it's official unveiling next month.
