The second generation India-bound Suzuki Ertiga will make its debut in Indonesia tomorrow and ahead of that, images of the car and its brochure have been leaked onto the interweb. This second generation sports a new exterior design and cabin, but carries forward the mechanicals of the outgoing model.
Sportiness seems to be theme as the bumpers have got sporty elements and have also gotten , thereby adding to the image of the car. The profile remains the same, but at the rear, the stacked tail lamps have been replaced by wedge-like units that wrap around and also have reflectors into the back of the D-pillar. Other new exterior bits include projector headlamps, revised design for the alloy wheels, chrome door handles and electrically folding ORVMs.
The cabin has been picked up en masse from the Dzire and Swift although it leans more towards the former. You get the same feature list too- touchscreen infotainment system, keyless entry, button start and possibly climate control on higher spec models. The car sports a 1.5-litre four-cylinder. It’s expected to produce more than the 1.4-litre engine and will be offered with a five-speed manual/four-speed automatic.
This car is coming to India. In fact, India will become one centres where the car will be produced for the domestic market as well as export purposes. We can expect a new design and cabin but with current India-spec engine options when the car is launched here possibly by the end of the year.
