- The ASEAN-spec Isuzu D-Max teased ahead of the official reveal
- Will get a new theme along with a revised interior and updated platform
Isuzu has been testing the new D-Max V-Cross for some time now. The carmaker has just dropped a teaser video for the same where the mid-size pick-up truck showcases its new theme or as Isuzu likes to call it ‘Infinite Potential’ .
Appearance-wise, the third-gen D-Max will get a more imposing grille flanked by redesigned headlamps. There are LED daytime running lights surrounding the projectors. Meanwhile, the grille is two-tier and is finished in contrast black. The fog lamps are also seen in the teaser which are vertically stacked and newly designed. At the back, the new taillight clusters get a dual-square signature along with a reworked tailgate.
A few glimpses of the cabin reveals a new switchgear system in a slightly upmarket interior. There are contrasting elements along with a sleek and modern instrument cluster. The use of high-quality material is evident in the gear lever and piano black trim running across the dash. We could expect more features and creature comforts to be added inside the cabin making the D-Max less utilitarian.
In terms of powertrain, the new D-Max V-Cross will continue to be powered by the 1.9-litre diesel engine which is good for 150bhp/350Nm. In India, this motor is expected to be upgraded to the upcoming BS-VI standards soon. After the ASEAN-spec D-Max goes on sale in the international markets, it is expected to arrive on our shores either in late 2020 or early 2021.
