-Ultra-luxury version of the GLS will be introduced in the next generation
-Due in 2019
- Fourth addition to the Maybach family
The Mercedes-Benz GLS Maybach has been spotted testing in Germany ahead of its debut in 2019. As the name suggests, it is an ultra-luxurious next generation GLS and will be introduced post the launch of the GLS itself.
With the demand for SUVs picking up at a really fast pace, it only seems logical for the German automaker to introduce such a model. It’s expected to replicate the S-Class Maybach sedan spec for spec both on the inside and outside. This means a strict four-seat layout with every conceivable luxury imaginable and present in Mercedes’ luxury armoury.
It’s expected to be offered only with petrol power and that too as a hybrid and could possibly even spawn an EQ version going ahead. This is a car that Mercedes-Benz will bring to life to take on the likes of the Range Rover LWB, Bentley Bentayga, Rolls Royce Culinan, Lamborghini Urus as well as future SUVs from Aston Martin and Ferrari. It’s India-bound for sure, but will be offered here in limited numbers and most likely via the CBU route.
