- To be positioned between the Q5 and the Q7
- Rumored to be introduced as the E-tron pure electric SUV
- Will be offered with either fully electric or hybrid powertrain options.
The upcoming Audi Q6 is rumored to be the pure electric SUV named the E-tron. At the time of launch, the coupe-like SUV is expected to be positioned between the Q5 and the Q7, and is expected to share design elements with the e-tron concept. The upcoming vehicle will be offered with either fully electric or hybrid powertrain options.
As for the interior, the new Q6 might share details with the new Audi A7. It is expected to be offered with two touch screens in the centre console and the latest iteration of Audi’s Virtual Cockpit. The company has not spoken in detail about the vehicle yet and it likely to be offered in four-seat or five-seat layout options. It will get premium leather upholstery and will come with all the bells and whistles.
Last month, the German luxury car manufacturer had revealed technical details for the upcoming E-Tron electric SUV. The company claims that the prototype has an estimated driving range of 248.5 miles (approx. 400kms). It is believed that the upcoming Audi E-Tron will be powered by a two-motor powertrain and a 95kWh lithium-ion battery. It is reportedly one of the first vehicles in the market to support charging of up to 150kW. This is about three times the 50kW that can be seen in non-Tesla chargers. This means that you have access to one of those stations on your trip that can charge your vehicle up to 80 percent in just about 30 minutes.
More details about the Audi Q6 will be known in the days to come.
