Skoda recently unveiled the 2020 Octavia in its fourth-generation avatar. One might now say, it looks like a coupe, but it is indeed bigger, looks good and is better equipped than its predecessor. It's expected to be launched in India next year, and before you actually get to see it in person, here is a picture gallery that details the changes, both on the outside and inside.
Sharper and clearly defined lines now add to its overall character, while the new 19-inch wheels with 15-spokes look absolutely smashing!
Up front is a new grille surrounded by sleek headlights. These seem to have got narrower than the earlier ones and feature brighter DRLs.
At the back are new tail lamps and brake lights that feature LED units as well. The bumpers are also tweaked to complement the sharper styling.
Apart from being wider and longer than the current model, the new Octavia also sports the SKODA lettering on the tail gate, which will soon be seen on all new Skoda models.
Then, there's also an ambient lighting that includes the projection of the Skoda lettering on the ground when the front doors are opened.
This tech-laden interior boasts of a new LED ambient lighting that indirectly illuminates the front doors and dashboard too.
The cabin now gets more features with a new dashboard sporting a 10-inch free-standing central display. Even the steering wheel is new, behind which, a digital instrument cluster can be seen.
Globally, the new-gen Octavia will be available with a plethora of engine options. This includes petrol, diesel, CNG, mild hybrid and even plug-in hybrid options.
Apart from the petrol and diesel engine choices, we can also expect the hybrid versions. However, that will only happen next year upon its launch bringing in more competition to the D-segment of cars.
