Mercedes-Benz India is likely to launch the next generation S-Class luxury sedan by early 2014. This was hinted at by Eberhard Kern, CEO of Mercedes-Benz India during the launch of the new A-Class hatchback yesterday.
The 2014 Mercedes-Benz S-Class was unveiled at a function in Germany on May 15 and much like its predecessors is a glimpse of what car technology will evolve into within the next 10-15 years. It features a revised design as well as option to have a hybrid mill.
The B-Class diesel on the other hand will join A-Class and the B-Class Tourer as a part of the MFA (Modular Front Wheel Drive Architecture) based cars. It will be powered by the same four cylinder 2.2-litre diesel mill that powers the A180CDI. This engine produces 109PS and 250Nm of torque. The power is transmitted to the front wheels via a seven-speed (7G Tronic) dual clutch gearbox.
